Our founder, Kate, is originally from South Africa, a country known for its fantastic wines. However, it wasn't until she moved to the UK that her passion for wine truly blossomed, inspiring her to explore new regions and styles with unbridled enthusiasm.

As her seemingly innocent hobby grew into an all-consuming passion, Kate decided to create something special: Play the Wine Card, a place where wine appreciation is infused with passion and a sense of humour.

What sets us apart? We're all about making wine approachable, engaging, and enjoyable. We're here to prove that the world of wine can be a delightful adventure, filled with new discoveries and a warm, friendly atmosphere. No snobbery ! We personally source all our wines and have incredibly high standards !
